How Do I Accelerate Venture Growth through Geographic expansion and development of commercialization
capabilities?
Challenge:

A European Biotech company wishes to accelerate its development by acquiring a commercial asset and establishing a presence in the United States. The internal Management team is R&D focused and has limited experience in commercialization and operating in the US.

Process:

A Management in Action team is formed to work closely with the Europe-based company management, to develop, prioritize and implement the best operational options. This includes choice of location for a US-based R&D Unit, funding through R&D and government grants, development of corporate partnerships and raising additional capital.

The team also performed a complete due diligence and valuation of a commercial asset to be acquired from a big Pharma company. A comprehensive commercial roadmap for re-lauching and growing the Brand was developed, addressing competitive positioning, market access, clinical support and sales force deployment.

Outcome:

The European Biotech was able to establish a presence in the US, accelerate the clinical development of its pipeline, and increase its visibility with key US stakeholders including opinion leaders, regulatory agencies, investors and corporate partners.
